Super Bowl 56 w/ The BSWC

The Superbowl is coming to Los Angeles on Feb 13, 2022. It will be Super Bowl LVI (56). There is always spike in domestic violence on Super Bowl Sunday but there is also state sanctioned violence against sex workers. It's not a fun day for us: for women, particularly Black, brown and transgender sex workers who are often picked up for "walking while trans" due to racist, transphobic laws that allow the LAPD the ability to criminalize people based on how they look and where they are standing or walking. 2. There were 4,000 arrests in 2020, according to the California Dept of justice *(Here is the LA Times Article reference for that number and data above) 3. Sex worker organizations are putting on a webinar to discuss how to organize together to change policy and practices for sex worker rights in LA and California.
